Every day drop off at 7:30am
Starts Monday, September 8, 2008 - until January 30, 2009
Bring your child into the building; there will be a staff member to greet you. Your child will be taken to the gym where the fun begins. There will be crafts, sports, board games and more. At approximately 8:20am the children will be brought to the cafeteria where they will eat breakfast. Then the staff member will bring the children to morning line up.

Be Cool at After School
REGISTRATION
To enroll your child, simply click on the "Registration" button above, fill out the form and click "Submit." Submit your
registration forms no later than
September 30, 2008
.
Space is made available on a first response basis.
Tuition must be paid at the time of registration. After the 2nd week of the program, classes cannot be changed or refunds given.
If you are unable
to pay in full at the time of registration, you must speak in advance
with the program to arrange a payment plan. All outstanding balances must
be paid by December 19, 2008.
HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?
• Children will be brought to a specific area in the gym at school
dismissal time (2:50 PM). Snack will be provided at this time.
• At 3:15 PM
children will be escorted to activities previously selected until
4:50 PM
.Children will be back in the cafeteria by
5:00 PM
.
• Once back in the Cafeteria some of the children would be picked up by their parents
or authorized person. Those children that remain will have homework time with supervised help and will be dismissed at 6:00 PM
or 6:30 PM
.
There will be a late fee for any child picked up after 6:01 PM
of $10.00 for every 30 minutes period past this time. This is payable upon pick up the same day - no exceptions.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• We understand that emergencies and/or unexpected situations may occur, but
after the 3rd occurrence your child will not be permitted back in the program and you will not receive a refund.
• If care is needed after 6:30 PM
every day, arrangements can be made on individual basis.
OTHER AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM CONSIDERATIONS
• Fees for the After school program are per semester. There is a 10% discount for each additional child per family enrolled in the after
school program. There is a registration fee of $50.00 per semester and will include the cost of the insurance coverage required to provide a
safe environment for our children.
• The after school program will follow the school calendar so please refer to it to
note days off, half days, and school holidays and will not be in session on these days. If you are interested in sponsoring a child in the after
school program please speak to the program to make arrangements.
• Children
participating in AIS or ESL will be able to attend Be Cool at After School on an individual basis. The after school program
staff will pick up your child after this programs, provide them snacks, have homework help and have them ready for dismissal at
6:00 PM.

SCHOLARSHIP
FUND
The Scholarship Fund Program was conceived to open the after school
program to families with limited incomes. We believe Be Cool at After
School must give our children the opportunity to participate in the
program regardless of the income status of their families. Selected
students will get a 50% discount of total session cost. CLICK HERE to learn about Scholarship Fund

To be considered for the After School
Scholarship Fund, applicants must comply with the following requirements
(all considerations must apply):
1. Only students enrolled on a full time basis (Mondays to Fridays from
3:00
to 6:00 PM
or 6:30 PM
pick up) will be considered.
2.
Students must be part of the free lunch program presently at P.S. 196 (All incoming kindergarten students are not elegible until Spring semester 2009)
3.
Parents must provide proof of family income (Copy of Year 2007 Federal Tax Income
Return)
4.
Applications must be filled out and submitted by time of registration (Deadline: September 2nd, 2008 ). The number of Scholarship Fund participants is limited
Fees, payment schedule and general information for scholarship participants

The total cost of the session for scholarship participants will be half of the session fee plus $50.00 for the registration fee. Payments will be divided in two (2) parts.

Deposit fees are non-refundable after the beginning of the session if you decide to retire your child from the after school program.

DISMISSAL PROCEDURE
• Children will be brought to the cafeteria by 4:50
PM
at which time they will be ready for 5:00 PM
dismissal.
• Those students that are staying until
6:00 PM or
6:30pm will do their homework in the cafeteria and will get help from the after school program staff. This
does not ensure that the homework will be completed in the time allotted. We will make every effort to help the children complete this task.
• When picking up your child, please come to the Main Entrance Lobby, sign out
your child and leave the building promptly.
• In order to maintain an orderly dismissal, it is important those picking up the
children do not remain in the hallway.
• Children would only be permitted for pick up by their parents or authorized
persons registered in our records.
• We will enforce our policy of a late fee of $10.00 for every 30 minutes for each
child picked up after 6:01 PM or 6:31pm

• We understand that emergencies or unexpected situations may occur, but
children with more than 3 occurrences per semester will not be permitted back in the program and you will not receive a refund. Please understand
that our staff works with our children from 8:30 AM until 6:30PM
. Our after school program does not have funds to pay for staff overtime, therefore it is imperative
that parents make every effort for timely pick up of your child unless other arrangements are made.
ADDITIONAL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM RULES
• All returned checks are subject to an extra $25.00 fee.
• You must notify both: your child’s teacher and the After School Program if
your child is to be dismissed before after school on a regularly scheduled after school day or if there is a change in who is authorized
to pick up your child.
• Remind your children that they are expected to behave acceptably and responsibly.
Failure to do so can result in their removal from the program and fees will be forfeited.
• If your child is enrolled in the gym/sport class, please make sure he/she is
wearing appropriate clothes and shoes (sneakers).
• Snacks have been made of available. If your child does not like what is offered,
kindly send a snack of your own.
• There is not a nurse available during after school hours. First aid kits will be
provided for every class.
• In case of medical emergency parents will be contacted. After given consent, child
will be taken to Parkway Hospital Emergency Room.
